Move the Body, Heal the Mind: The Healing Power of Exercise with Dr. Jennifer Heisz Watch here

How can exercise, or simply moving your body, heal your body and mind?

Join us for a fireside chat with Dr. Jennifer J. Heisz ‘04’10, as she shares her fascinating research about how exercise can improve overall health, both physical and mental.

This talk will be hosted by Dr. Katie Moisse, Assistant Professor, Interdisciplinary Science.

Exercise: Powerful Medicine for Health and Aging, with Dr. Stuart Phillips Watch here

Join renowned kinesiology researcher, Dr. Stuart Phillips, to learn about how much (or how little) people have to do to improve their odds of living longer, healthier and better lives.

This talk is presented as a partnership between the Optimal Aging Portal and the Office of Alumni Engagement.

Move it or Lose it with Dr. Stuart Phillips Watch here

In this inaugural online Lager Lecture, Dr. Stuart Phillips will explore the ‘traditional’ as well as some less tangible, but perhaps equally as important, benefits of being physically active. We have also begun to understand what relatively ‘brief’ periods of inactivity do to aging persons and the importance of actively recovering from these periods as we age.

Virtual Hike Through McMaster Forest with Nature@McMaster Watch here

Rejuvenate with the signs and songs of Spring!

Join Wayne, Noah and Rob as they take us on a virtual hike through McMaster Forest, highlighting the history and ecological aspects of this special property. The proximity to campus, combined with the incredible diversity of animal and plant species, make the McMaster Forest an ideal research, recreation, and teaching facility.
